Mark 14:43-46 from the New Testament translated into Marathi by R H Kelkar
Hello. I find myself hung up on the bible verse about Judas betraying Jesus…..the KJV says after kissing Jesus, Judas instructs the soldiers to “Lead him away safely”.
Most other translations say “Lead Him away under guard”
I can’t read the Greek – can you give me an idea what your words would be for this passage?
Thank you. Sorry to be bogged down by a small detail..Lucy Shoup
The Greek words in Mark 14:44 are
“apago” meaning carry away /lead away / take away / put to death
“asphalos” meaning securely / assuredly / safely
Because of these alternative meanings of the Greek words, the English renderings vary in different translations.
The R H Kelkar Marathi translation has words that come near to saying in English: “handle him with care”.
Do tell me if my comment is helpful or if you have any further questions.
